Acme X Wine Diamonds @ Culprit.Tuesday 2nd October
$125 per person 9 courses incl. snacks, main & dessert
Opened in Rushcutters Bay, Sydney in 2014 by partners Andy Emerson, Cam Fairnbairn, Mitch Orr and Ed Loveday, Acme is a not-strictly Italian restaurant. Sure, pasta takes front stage, but Chef/Owner Mitch Orr’s menu draws inspiration from all over the world, particularly Asia.
Mitch Orr worked in a number of well-known restaurants before opening his own spot, such as 121BC, 10 William St, and Duke Bistro, but most notably Osteria Francescana where we worked under Massimo Bottura. He also co-hosts Sydney food podcast The Mitchen with Andrew Levins.
The menu is focused around pasta but with a handful of snacks to get started on. Expect dishes such as stracciatella, tamarillo and folded beetroot, barbecue kalettes and toasted almond butter, or pigs’ head macaroni with smoked egg yolk. The beverage list features an all-natural, all-organic wine list with wines from all around the world.
